listed synonym thesaurus) is composed of three parts:
- a hierarchical classification system (hierarchy or "Aper‡u
of Categories");
- a essentials, which lists the Categories (whose titles are every so often
referred to as "head words" or "headings"), subordinate to which are originate
the groups of semantically- or conceptually-related words and
phrases (synonyms or entries);
- an Listing, which lists the entries alphabetically (along with the
Heading titles and numbers under which the entry may be found in
the main part).
